Twenty years ago, Stan Ahalt left South Carolina to become an assistant professor in the electrical engineering department at The Ohio State University. He never expected to become passionate about living and working in Ohio. But it's only natural that he did.

You see, Stan is now a full professor and Executive Director of the Ohio Super- computer Center (OSC). Through a wide variety of initiatives, OSC makes the immense power of its computer clusters available for academic, technical and research applications. But it's their "Blue Collar Computing" effort that gives small to mid-size Ohio businesses a decisive competitive advantage.

Dubbed, "high performance computing for the rest of us," the Blue Collar effort provides businesses with high-end computer capability that might otherwise be unavailable, helping them to optimize their time and resources for profitable growth.

In Ohio, Stan has been able to achieve career success without sacrificing the quality of his personal life. With short commutes and less stress, he and his family have more time to enjoy their favorite activities and take advantage of the state's many cultural and recreational opportunities.

Stan has lived in South Carolina, Colorado and Virginia, but he's found his balance in Ohio.
