Ohio is making substantial public investments in broadband infrastructure throughout the state, complementing already extensive private development. Ohio's continuing initiative is dubbed Broadband Ohio and will make use of existing voter-approved funding commitments to accelerate broadband access through all 88 Ohio counties.
Ohio's public investments in broadband infrastructure have already installed proprietary fiber optic cable to link public and private research institutions to the next generation of Internet connectivity, with a goal to complete a statewide network.
Broadband data access is already extensively available throughout Ohio's municipalities for consumer and business access, with limited municipal wireless hot-spot coverage gaining ground. Private providers are quickly adding all major Ohio cities to wireless broadband access networks.
Ohio's business community can count on continued improvements to Ohio's already strong broadband coverage.
