Twenty-five years ago, Al Wofford left South Carolina to become an officer in the Air Force, eventually stationed at Dayton's Wright-Patterson Air Force Base. When he left the service in 1987, he knew Ohio was the perfect place to start his business.
Here, Al saw great opportunities in the information technology fields and found a great environment for building his business. Ohio's low property taxes on equipment, low tax rates, and opportunities for technology grants helped him quickly grow from two employees to more than 300, with five satellite offices and an impressive list of customers in both the public and private sectors.
The favorable business climate isn't all that drew Al to Ohio. He also found a great environment to raise his family, with all the advantages of the city but none of the stress. Deeply involved in his church and community, Al has time to do the things he wants in life. And he and his family have found plenty of nearby activities to enjoy together, from museums, to recreation, amusement parks and more.
